    Welcome to Harrison Middle School

  • Mission Statement

The Mission of the Harrison Middle School is to provide an academically rigorous education in a disciplined and caring environment.

Harrison Middle School will achieve academic excellence by adhering to best practice research that is relevant to the developmental challenges of early adolescents.

The Harrison Middle School team will provide social equity by fostering relationships with parents and the community to equally assist all students in developing skills necessary to become successful, responsible, and contributing citizens.

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at HMS. Our administrative team, teachers and support staff are looking forward to an exciting and productive year

HMS is dedicated to providing a superior education for students. We are continually striving to develop an organization that supports both academic excellence and personal development.  Middle grades play a critical role in this development, bridging the gap between elementary and high school on the education continuum.

Our goal is to provide a comprehensive, standards based educational program that challenges students to reach their potential and prepares them for the next level of their education.

The success of HMS results from the collaborative efforts of our school, parents, and community, all working toward a common goal. HMS was the recipient of the Shannon Wright Award in 2006,  Best Practice School Award in 2007, and named an Arkansas Top 10 middle school on schooldigger.com in 2008.

We are thrilled to have this great website as a  means of communication with our students, parents, and community. We hope that you will familiarize yourself with this site and visit it often to stay abreast of current information, events, and classroom schedules and assignments. Our teachers are setting up their web pages to provide specific information about their classes. We hope that you enjoy our Web site and find it useful in communicating with Harrison Middle School.
